DJI unveiled the Osmo 360 II at IFA 2026, introducing a next-generation 360-degree 8K camera designed to compete directly with Insta360’s X6 model. The device features dual 1-inch sensors with enhanced dynamic range capabilities and can capture 8K video at up to 60 frames per second, alongside 4K slow-motion footage at 240fps—improvements over the previous generation’s 50fps and 100fps maximums respectively.
The new camera introduces several notable enhancements that address user pain points. Replaceable lenses represent a significant upgrade, mirroring functionality that Insta360 pioneered with its X5 and X6 models. A major limitation affects American consumers: the Osmo 360 II will not be officially available in the United States market. Ongoing governmental restrictions targeting DJI have effectively barred the company’s products from its official U.S. sales channels, forcing American buyers to seek alternative purchasing methods. The device launches globally on September 15, with pricing set at approximately $500 based on Hong Kong availability, though no official U.S. pricing exists.
