A new digital entertainment platform called aTwist officially launched Thursday, bringing vertical microseries content to viewers across multiple countries. The studio was founded by television industry veterans Jana Winograde, Susan Rovner and Lloyd Braun, who are bringing their extensive experience to the emerging format of short-form programming.
aTwist is debuting with an expansive initial slate of original content spanning scripted dramas, unscripted reality series and animated productions. The offerings showcase diverse genres including horror, comedy, romance and thriller material, with collaborations from established producers such as Bradley Bell and partnerships with platforms like BET and Hartbeat. According to Rovner, the platform’s focus remains consistent across genres: maintaining viewer engagement through strong pacing and compelling storytelling structures.
The platform is now available to audiences in eight countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and India through both the aTwist website and mobile applications. The viewing model allows audiences to watch episodes free with advertisements or access complete seasons through a subscription service or virtual currency system called coins. New microseries episodes are scheduled to premiere each Thursday.
aTwist’s debut catalog includes eight original series with titles ranging from “Buried Alive, Back For Revenge” to “I Swiped Right on a Serial Killer,” featuring various casts and production teams from across the entertainment industry.
