The British version of Saturday Night Live has secured a major star for its second season launch. Academy Award nominee Jeff Goldblum, best known for his role in the “Jurassic Park” franchise, will serve as host for the premiere episode scheduled for September 12. This marks Goldblum’s third appearance hosting an SNL program, following previous stints on the American version in 1993 and 1998.
Goldblum brings considerable familiarity with the United Kingdom, having filmed both “Wicked” movies there and conducted a tour with his musical ensemble earlier this year. The casting continues the show’s tradition of attracting high-profile talent, with the inaugural season having featured Tina Fey as its opening host alongside notable names including Nicola Coughlan, Jack Whitehall, and Jamie Dornan.
Joining Goldblum as musical guest is Irish singer and Brit Award nominee CMAT. The second season will run for six weekly installments through October 24, with additional episodes planned for early 2027. The show maintains its original cast of performers and is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK team and Broadway Video, with Lorne Michaels serving as executive producer.
