Dylan Walsh, who portrays David Hollander on the romantic hockey series “Heated Rivalry,” has temporarily stepped back from the celebrity video platform Cameo following an unintended disclosure. In a personalized video clip that circulated widely online, the actor mentioned that production would soon resume in Canada to film approximately 12 episodes for the upcoming season.
The revelation stirred controversy because series creator Jacob Tierney has previously stated his preference for producing no more than six episodes per season. Walsh’s comment has led fans to speculate that the production company may be simultaneously filming multiple seasons or dividing the second season into two parts. Tierney told the Los Angeles Times in February that he prioritizes compact storytelling over lengthy episode counts.
Following the viral moment, Walsh paused his Cameo account and posted a message explaining his decision. He indicated that the widespread circulation of the video had created difficulties for him professionally. Both his availability status and explanatory note have since been removed from the platform.
The situation carries an ironic twist, as the source material for Season 2—Rachel Reid’s novel “The Long Game”—features a plot involving a video that spreads virally on a similar application. The second season is anticipated to launch in spring 2027.
