Bella Brown led Sequoyah’s offensive attack with eight kills, three aces, and a block assist, while teammates Alice Michaels and Emerson Walke also provided significant contributions. Sequoyah’s balanced attack proved too much for the Class 4A No. 14 Lady Cardinals to handle. Verdigris struggled with consistency, committing 39 total errors across the three sets compared to Sequoyah’s 19 miscues. Addi McMahan paced Verdigris with seven kills, but the Lady Cardinals could not maintain momentum against the Lady Eagles’ relentless play.
Sequoyah coach Zoe Kersey praised her team’s well-rounded performance and improved energy compared to an earlier loss to Inola. The sweep highlighted the competitive nature of Rogers County volleyball, where several top programs have traded victories this season. The teams will meet again Friday at 2 p.m. during the Oologah Tournament, with Verdigris seeking redemption after Tuesday’s decisive defeat.
