Nashville indie-rock band Lombardy has released a new music video for their single “Bazooka” that draws heavily from classic action cinema. The four-piece transforms their instruments into weapons of mass destruction, with guitarists launching flames and bassists firing missiles while navigating through a jungle setting. The video, shot in a Madison, Tennessee park, features the band members on an elaborate military-style mission complete with a low-flying helicopter, creating an intentionally over-the-top aesthetic reminiscent of films like “Apocalypse Now” and “Predator.”
The group—comprised of singer-guitarists Jonathan Plevyak and Mike Scott, bassist-singer Seth Renfrow, and drummer Steve Mascarello—has cultivated a reputation for blending rock, punk, and hip-hop while maintaining an unpredictable stage presence. Their live performances are known for creative costume choices, ranging from “Sopranos”-inspired suits to Hawaiian shirts, reflecting their playful approach to entertainment.
Directed and produced by Steve Jawn and 10:10 Creative, the “Bazooka” video is now streaming through East Iris Records and Virgin Music Group. The band will debut the track at the Ryman Auditorium on September 27, opening for Starbomb. This latest release continues Lombardy’s pattern of drawing inspiration from unexpected cultural touchstones, following their previous single “Jane Fonda,” which was influenced by 1980s fitness videos.
