Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man, known professionally as Cliff Smith, will make a guest appearance on the upcoming CBS drama series “Cupertino.” In the show, Smith takes on the role of Yungwood, a musician who pursues legal action against an artificial intelligence music studio that has negatively impacted his streaming earnings.
“Cupertino” premieres October 8 and airs Thursday nights on CBS. The series follows a David versus Goliath legal narrative centered on a lawyer portrayed by Mike Colter who was denied promised stock options by his tech startup employer. After losing his position, he teams up with a fellow unemployed attorney, played by Rachel Keller, to represent victims of corporate misconduct and challenge powerful technology industry figures in Silicon Valley.
The drama features an ensemble cast including Ella Stiller, Busy Philipps, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Nik Dodani. Robert and Michelle King, the accomplished producing team behind “The Good Wife,” “The Good Fight,” “Evil,” and “Elsbeth,” created the series. Smith brings significant acting experience to the role, having earned four consecutive NAACP Image Awards for his performance as attorney David MacLean in all four seasons of Starz’s “Power Book II: Ghost.”
