Kai Trump improved on her opening performance at the Golfweek Fall Challenge during the second day of competition. The University of Miami freshman, competing as an individual, posted a 76 on Monday after shooting a 78 in her debut round on Sunday, putting her two strokes better for the day.
Trump’s second-round scorecard showed inconsistent play across the course. She began with a bogey and birdie before settling into three consecutive pars, but a double-bogey on the 16th hole pushed her to 2-over for the round. After making the turn to the front nine, she added three more bogeys to complete her second 18 holes at the South Carolina venue.
Following her Monday performance, Trump now sits at 12-over par for the tournament, placing her 17 shots behind the competition leader. She moved up the leaderboard standings, improving from a tie for 102nd place after the opening round to a tie for 92nd following Monday’s play in the 120-player field.
The Golfweek Fall Challenge is being held at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island and features 23 teams competing across the amateur event. North Carolina Wilmington’s Alexis Faieta currently leads the individual competition at 5-under par.
