Panorama Studios, the production company behind the successful “Drishyam” film franchise, has made a strategic investment in Rocket Reels, an Indian vertical streaming platform focused on original content. The move aims to support the platform’s expansion efforts and strengthen its technological capabilities. Panorama Studios, headed by veteran producer Kumar Mangat Pathak and filmmaker Abhishek Pathak, has established itself through numerous commercially successful films including “Special 26,” “Raid,” and “Shaitaan.”
Rocket Reels specializes in mobile-first storytelling, delivering concise episodes designed for smartphone viewers across multiple genres including thrillers, romance, and comedy. The platform currently operates in six Indian languages and has expanded internationally to ten countries spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Founded by Kranti Shanbhag, the platform has positioned itself as an early entrant in India’s growing vertical content category.
The investment is expected to enhance Rocket Reels’ content library, upgrade its technical infrastructure, and accelerate production of new original series. Industry observers note that vertical storytelling is emerging as one of digital entertainment’s fastest-expanding formats, as viewers increasingly consume media through mobile devices. Both Panorama Studios leadership emphasized their commitment to quality storytelling and recognition of shifting consumer viewing patterns in the digital age.
