The Windsor Locks co-op football program is heading into the 2026 season with renewed optimism under third-year coach Andy Norige. The Raiders, which now includes East Windsor as a new co-op partner alongside Suffield and East Granby, finished last year with a 2-8 record but return substantial experience with seven offensive and eight defensive starters back on the roster.
A three-way quarterback competition will determine who leads the Raiders’ spread offense this fall. Seniors Tyler Musco and James Tanner face off against junior T.J. Ceasar for the starting position. Whoever wins will have a talented receiving group to work with, led by juniors Preston Hayward, Malachi Whyte, and several other options. Senior running back Ethan Musco, who earned All-Pequot honors last season, anchors the backfield alongside junior Danni Vargas and speedster Ja’meer Simms.
The offensive and defensive lines feature several two-way contributors, including senior Alex Kyris and juniors Edgar Bermudez, Josiah Cespedes, and Liam McCormick. Senior Miguel Ortiz returns at inside linebacker, joined by junior Ryan Dave, who also contributes at receiver. Junior Kairo Sharpe continues as the team’s kicker and punter.
Though the program hasn’t posted a winning record since 2019, Norige believes the combination of veteran leadership and offseason development positions the Raiders to improve in the competitive Pequot Conference this season.
