Phoebe Bridgers recently performed a rendition of Nirvana’s 1991 hit “Lithium” for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge program. The performance took place earlier this month at the studio, where Bridgers was accompanied by a guitarist for the grunge classic.
In addition to her cover, Bridgers performed “Bobby,” a track from her newly released album Lost Weekend. The album marks her first solo effort in six years, following 2020’s Punisher, and arrived on August 14th to critical acclaim.
The BBC Radio 1 appearance came just hours before Bridgers required medical attention for appendicitis, forcing her to reschedule several upcoming UK performances. She later announced the news on social media with characteristic humor, prompting fans to await rescheduled dates.
Bridgers will launch her Lost Tour later this fall, beginning September 15th in Indianapolis and concluding in December at a Swedish venue. The tour will notably feature a phone-free policy for attendees seeking an immersive concert experience.
