Australian artist Troye Sivan has launched a new creative chapter with the single “She’s the Best” and an accompanying visual featuring acclaimed actress Nicole Kidman. The music video, helmed by director Gordon Von Steiner, showcases Sivan performing at a nightclub surrounded by drag performers, including notable artist Sasha Colby. Kidman, also Australian, appears throughout the clip observing the performance before joining Sivan in drag by the video’s conclusion.
Von Steiner’s collaboration with Sivan extends beyond this latest project, having previously directed the singer’s music videos for “Rush,” “Got Me Started,” and “One of Your Girls,” all from his 2023 album “Something to Give Each Other.” The creative partnership demonstrates an established working relationship between the director and musician.
The title track was developed through a collaborative songwriting effort involving Sivan, George Daniel, Jack Antonoff, Leland, and Kaelyn Behr, with production credits shared among Sivan, Daniel, Antonoff, and Styalz Fuego. Sivan described the forthcoming album as a comprehensive exploration of his recent experiences, encompassing both triumphant moments and deeper emotional complexities. The full-length project, also titled “She’s the Best,” is scheduled for release on October 9.
