Nick Mohammed, best known for his role in the hit series “Ted Lasso,” has been announced as the host for “The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal,” a theatrical adaptation of the popular competition format coming to London’s West End. The announcement was made official through a video featuring BBC television personality Claudia Winkleman, who hosts the television version of the show, formally swearing Mohammed into the position at a Scottish castle.
The stage production, set to begin preview performances in May 2027 at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, presents an innovative take on the competition format. Playwright John Finnemore has crafted five separate scripts, each depicting a complete game from traitor selection through final elimination. While Monday through Friday performances follow identical premises but diverge into distinct storylines, Saturday audiences will directly influence which narrative unfolds by selecting which player assumes the host role.
Mohammed brings firsthand familiarity to the hosting position, having competed as a finalist on “The Celebrity Traitors” during its inaugural season. The actor, who has also appeared in the spy thriller “Slow Horses,” praised playwright Finnemore’s work as masterfully unpredictable. According to Studio Lambert’s leadership, Mohammed’s combination of charm, theatrical talent, and intimate knowledge of the game’s mechanics made him an ideal fit for a role demanding complete command of a live audience across multiple nightly performances.
