The show’s official social media account shared a congratulatory post featuring creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone alongside their achievement, but accompanied the message with a provocative image depicting the president in cartoon form, pantless and clutching an Emmy award while surrounded by show characters.
The timing of the victory adds particular weight to the mockery. The Emmy-winning episode, titled “Sermon On The ‘Mount,” served as Season 27’s controversial premiere and drew sharp criticism from the White House for its unflattering portrayal of Trump. The installment achieved substantial viewership numbers and became one of the show’s most watched premieres in recent years. South Park has now secured six Emmy awards throughout its run, with 21 total nominations, while Trump holds two Emmy nominations from his work on “The Apprentice” without a win.
The episode’s satirical content proved especially pointed, incorporating political commentary alongside its crude visual gags.
