Sony has expanded its headphone lineup with three new models across different price tiers, giving consumers more options to choose from this fall. The company’s latest announcement demonstrates a strategic approach to capturing market share at multiple price points, from budget-conscious buyers to those seeking premium audio experiences.
The Sony WH-1000XM4C represents a notable milestone as the first sequel in the WH-1000X series history. Priced at $299.99, these headphones position themselves as a middle ground between Sony’s premium XM6 flagships at $450 and more affordable alternatives. The new model maintains the noise cancellation technology of its predecessor while introducing enhancements including a 10-band equalizer and gaming presets. Battery life stands at 27 hours with active noise cancellation enabled, and the headphones feature the convenient folding ear cup design of the original model.
For price-conscious shoppers, Sony introduced the WH-CH730N at $179.99 and the WH-CH530 at $69.99, both available starting September 7. The mid-range WH-CH730N delivers 50 hours of battery life with noise cancellation active, while the budget-friendly WH-CH530 offers 55 hours of playback without active noise cancellation but includes improved microphone quality for calls and gaming features. To mark the holiday season, Sony plans limited-edition Hello Kitty versions of all three new models, adding collectible appeal to the product lineup.
