The Seattle Seahawks traveled to Nashville to face the Tennessee Titans in a joint practice Friday, seeking valuable repetitions for their defending Super Bowl champions against live competition. The reigning champions maintained their composure throughout the session, demonstrating the poise expected of title contenders while Tennessee’s struggling franchise sought to prove itself against elite talent.
Seattle’s offense showed flashes of progress, with quarterback Sam Darnold connecting with receivers on deep routes and running backs George Holani and Jadarian Price excelling in pass-catching situations. Safety Ty Okada provided a highlight for the defense with an interception returned for a touchdown. However, the Seahawks suffered a significant setback when wide receiver Jake Bobo sustained a serious right knee injury that required him to be carted from the field. Heat-related issues also sidelined tackle Abe Lucas and receiver Montorie Foster Jr., though both conditions were less severe than Bobo’s injury.
Despite the intense Tennessee heat and humidity, the Seahawks avoided the physical altercations that have plagued other joint practices this preseason. When minor scuffles erupted, both teams quickly de-escalated, keeping focus on productive work. Coach Mike Macdonald emphasized the value of the practice environment, noting that starters received 40 to 50 high-quality repetitions—significantly more than a typical preseason game would provide.
The Seahawks also welcomed recently signed cornerback Trevon Diggs, the former Dallas All-Pro participating in position drills as he ramps up conditioning before competing in next week’s final preseason game against Kansas City.
