Goalhanger, a prominent British podcast production company, has announced the appointment of Tom Miceli as head of intellectual property development. Miceli transitions to the newly established position from his previous role at entertainment agency WME, where he spent over a decade working in television representation and international format sales.
In his new capacity, Miceli will oversee the strategic expansion of Goalhanger’s television and film ventures, working to adapt the company’s existing podcast catalog and upcoming projects for broader audiences. His responsibilities include managing partnerships with production companies and broadcasters across both domestic and international markets, as well as negotiating licensing and co-production agreements.
The appointment comes as Goalhanger experiences significant momentum in the entertainment industry. The company’s sports podcast “The Rest is Football” recently debuted on Netflix as a television series focused on World Cup coverage. Miceli’s hiring reflects Goalhanger’s ambition to scale its multimedia presence beyond its original podcast format, leveraging its established fanbase and content library to create compelling television and film properties.
Goalhanger’s founders expressed confidence in Miceli’s ability to identify promising opportunities within the company’s content portfolio. The organization was recently recognized as Britain’s fastest-growing private company and plans to host its inaugural festival in London this September.
