Norman Reedus has been cast in the upcoming Apple TV thriller series “Disavowed,” joining previously announced lead James Marsden. The casting was confirmed following the project’s initial announcement last May. While specific details about Reedus’ character remain undisclosed, the series is being developed from an original concept created by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.
The show centers on Brad Griffin, a veteran CIA operative portrayed by Marsden, who faces dismissal while pursuing a dangerous assassin linked to a colleague’s death. Stripped of his credentials and agency backing, Griffin pursues a substantial federal bounty offered for the suspect’s capture. The premise sets up a high-stakes narrative combining espionage and personal redemption themes.
Reedus is best recognized for his prominent role as Daryl Dixon across “The Walking Dead” franchise, where he spent eleven seasons on the flagship series before headlining the spinoff “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.” His film credits include titles such as “The Boondock Saints,” “Blade II,” and “Ballerina.” The final season of his spinoff series is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
The production team includes directors Michelle MacLaren and executive producers Tom Spezialy and Marsden. Blue Marble Pictures serves as the production studio, with Apple Studios also involved. The project operates under MacLaren’s overall development agreement with the streaming platform.
