The highly anticipated trailer for “Never After Dark” has arrived, garnering praise from prominent figures in the horror genre. Stephen King, the legendary author, described the film as “amazing and haunting,” while director Scott Derrickson, known for creating “The Black Phone” and “Sinister,” called it “intelligent, unpredictable and bone-chilling,” naming it among the year’s finest horror offerings.
The supernatural thriller, written and directed by Dave Boyle, follows a wandering medium named Airi who specializes in helping troubled spirits transition to the afterlife. When summoned to cleanse a remote countryside home of an unwanted presence, she encounters a terrifying apparition unlike anything she has previously experienced. As she investigates the property’s history, Airi discovers that her most formidable opponent may not be supernatural in nature, but rather one of the living.
The film features Moeka Hoshi in the lead role, alongside Kurumi Inagaki, Kento Kaku, and other accomplished performers. “Never After Dark” previously earned recognition at film festivals, including the grand jury prize at the Overlook Film Festival. The production is set for theatrical release on September 25 through Magnolia Pictures.
