Netflix has announced an upcoming limited series adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel “Pride and Prejudice,” set to premiere on December 3. The streaming platform has also released initial promotional images from the production, offering viewers a first glimpse at the new take on the beloved story.
The six-part series follows the Bennet sisters as they navigate romance and societal pressures following the arrival of wealthy eligible men in their community. The narrative centers on Jane’s attraction to the charming Mr. Bingley and Elizabeth’s contentious initial relationship with his aloof companion Mr. Darcy, before circumstances prompt Elizabeth to reevaluate her judgments about love and character.
The creative team behind the adaptation includes writer Dolly Alderton, known for her work on “Everything I Know About Love,” and director Euros Lyn, recognized for his direction on “Heartstopper.” The series is being produced by Lookout Point, with Emma Corrin serving as an executive producer alongside several other industry professionals including Will Johnston and Louise Mutter.
