Tokyo’s TIFFCOM market has announced the inaugural lineup for its revamped conference program, featuring presentations from three major Japanese media organizations. Nippon Television Network Corp., Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings, and the Broadcast Program Export Association of Japan will each lead dedicated sessions during the market’s October 28-30 event. Early registration data indicates strong momentum, with visitor sign-ups tracking approximately 20 percent higher than the same period last year.
Nippon TV’s session will focus on its strategy to establish itself as a global content studio, exploring its international co-production efforts, anime and character intellectual property expansion, and fan-engagement business models. The presentation will showcase the Disney+ series “Merry Berry Love,” a collaboration with South Korea’s CJ ENM Japan, and demonstrate AiDi, the broadcaster’s artificial intelligence video tool. Tokyo Broadcasting System will highlight its expansion initiatives, including partnerships with Legendary Entertainment and the creation of StudioMonowa, while showcasing international rollouts of franchises like “Sasuke/Ninja Warrior.”
The BEAJ-organized session will examine how regional Japanese broadcasters are extending their intellectual property beyond traditional television formats. Presentations will include Fuji Television’s plans to develop the variety program “Run for Money” into a virtual reality entertainment experience, alongside initiatives from San-in Chuo Television and Hokkaido Television Broadcasting. TIFFCOM, celebrating its 23rd edition, will run concurrently with the 39th Tokyo International Film Festival.
