Liverpool have reached a breakthrough in their extended pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s French winger Bradley Barcola. The Premier League side has secured an agreement with the Ligue 1 club that will see an initial payment of over £100 million, with potential additional fees bringing the total to approximately £120 million. While the transfer remains subject to final completion, both clubs have made significant progress in negotiations after weeks of discussions.
Barcola would rank as Liverpool’s second-most expensive acquisition in their history, trailing only the £125 million signing of Alexander Isak last year. The fee represents a substantial reduction from PSG’s initial asking price of £145 million, indicating the Merseyside club successfully negotiated favorable terms. The 23-year-old French international, who had limited time remaining on his Paris contract, was also being tracked by Arsenal throughout the summer window.
The arrival continues Liverpool’s search for attacking reinforcement following Mohamed Salah’s departure. The club had explored other options, including unsuccessful bids for Yan Diomande, Yankuba Minteh, and Ismaila Sarr, before concentrating resources on Barcola. PSG have already begun replacing their departing forward through summer acquisitions including Ferran Torres, Magnes Akliouche, and Mika Godts.
