Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden are partnering with California craft brewery Lagunitas for their upcoming Run For Your Lives World Tour this fall. The collaboration extends beyond typical sponsorships, with the two organizations jointly developing Trooper West Coast IPA, a limited-edition brew created specifically for the tour. Brewed at 6.6% alcohol by volume and incorporating Krush hops for their distinctive spicy tropical flavors, the beer represents Lagunitas’ first venture into the West Coast IPA style under the Trooper label.
The partnership demonstrates a genuine creative commitment from both sides. Frontman Bruce Dickinson was actively involved in the beer’s development, meeting with Lagunitas’ head brewer Jeremy Marshall at the Aftershock Festival to sample and evaluate multiple options before making their final selection. According to Marshall, Dickinson approached the tasting with surprising sophistication, offering detailed observations about each sample’s characteristics and flavor profiles.
Beyond the beer itself, Iron Maiden and Lagunitas will launch Eddie’s Dive Bar experiences at venues across North America before each concert stop. Named after the band’s iconic mascot, these free fan gatherings will welcome both ticket holders and general music enthusiasts to connect with fellow supporters. This marks the first time the popular meet-up concept, which has been a fixture of Iron Maiden’s international tours, comes to the United States.
