Rockstar Games released a 26-minute extended gameplay presentation on Netflix featuring Grand Theft Auto VI, providing the most detailed look yet at the game’s narrative and dual protagonists Jason and Lucia. The footage, captured entirely on PlayStation 5, centers on the relationship between the two main characters as they navigate an escalating criminal conspiracy across the fictional state of Leonida.
The presentation opens with a botched drug pickup at an apartment building that spirals into a deadly police confrontation, setting off a chain of events that forces Jason and Lucia to seek help from more experienced criminals. After meeting with seasoned bank robber Raul Bautista, the couple becomes entangled in increasingly dangerous jobs, including a high-stakes security assignment at a corporate party that erupts into violence. The footage reveals how the couple’s story progresses from small-time robberies to major criminal operations, with their partnership serving as the narrative foundation.
Beyond the storyline, the extended look showcased the game’s expansive open world activities, including scuba diving, skydiving, racing, and various combat mechanics. The presentation also demonstrated near-instantaneous character switching between Jason and Lucia when they’re in proximity. Rockstar released the official footage following unauthorized leaks distributed by a group calling itself Cyberleek, providing official context to what players had seen in fragmented form.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
