Santos forward Gabigol reached a significant milestone in Brazilian football history following his team’s dominant performance against Vasco da Gama. The striker netted a goal in Santos’ commanding 3-0 victory at São Januário on Sunday, propelling him up the ranks of the competition’s most prolific scorers across its entire existence.
With this latest goal, Gabigol now stands at 127 career Série A goals, placing him in eighth position on the all-time Brasileirão scoring list. He shares this achievement with legendary names Serginho Chulapa and Dadá Maravilha, cementing his status among the competition’s greatest attacking talents. The forward has also contributed eight goals throughout this season’s campaign.
The Santos number nine remains the most prolific active player in the tournament’s history. With approximately one-third of the season remaining, Gabigol sits within striking distance of several higher-ranked scorers. He trails Túlio Maravilha by two goals and Diego Souza by three, while legendary scorer Zico’s fifth-place tally of 135 goals is also well within reach. His continued performance could see him climb even further up this historic ranking before the season concludes.
