The latest installment in the Toy Story franchise is now available for digital purchase and rental across major platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. The film, which achieved blockbuster status with over one billion dollars in global box office revenue, marks the first new entry in the series since 2019.
Directed by Andrew Stanton, the film features returning voice actors Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack alongside newcomers Conan O’Brien and Greta Lee. The story introduces Lilypad, a technologically advanced toy character that creates conflict with the franchise’s traditional characters. The movie also includes musical contributions from Taylor Swift and a cameo appearance by Bad Bunny.
Physical media versions of Toy Story 5 will arrive on store shelves on September 22, with releases planned in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats. Special editions will include a Steelbook variant and a comprehensive five-movie collection. The physical release comes bundled with bonus content such as behind-the-scenes footage and deleted scenes, while digital versions feature exclusive music videos unavailable on physical media.
Disney has not yet disclosed when the film will become available on its Disney+ streaming service, though industry projections suggest a late September or early October release date for the platform.
