The Columbus Crew’s upcoming Major League Soccer match against the New England Revolution has been rescheduled due to travel considerations following the team’s Leagues Cup competition. The MLS made the adjustment to accommodate the squad’s journey back to Ohio after competing in a quarterfinal matchup on the West Coast.
The contest was originally scheduled for August 29 at 7:30 p.m. at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field but will now take place on August 30 at 4:30 p.m. The time and date change reflects the Crew’s late arrival in Columbus on August 27 following their four-day road trip to California, where they faced Club América in the Leagues Cup quarterfinal at Dignity Health Sports Park.
MLS officials determined that moving the match would provide the team with adequate recovery time and allow them to adjust to Eastern Time before facing New England. With only August 28 available for practice and preparation between their return and the originally scheduled game, the league prioritized giving Columbus sufficient rest before their next competitive match.
