The Zurich Film Festival has expanded its Gala Premieres lineup with 12 new selections, showcasing a diverse array of international cinema. Among the additions are several high-profile releases featuring acclaimed actors and emerging talent. Florian Zeller’s psychological thriller “Bunker” will premiere, starring Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz in a story about an architect designing a doomsday shelter for a wealthy client. The festival will also present Danny Boyle’s “Ink,” a British-French-American drama chronicling revolutionary figures who transform the news industry, featuring Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce, and Claire Foy.
Additional notable entries include the European premiere of Lauren Miller Rogen’s comedy “Babies,” which explores parenthood themes through an ensemble cast led by Anna Kendrick and Seth Rogen. Noah Segan’s crime thriller “The Only Living Pickpocket in New York” rounds out the selection with performances by veteran actors John Turturro and Steve Buscemi. The program also features world premieres of “Eurotrash” and “Blood Money,” alongside works by established and emerging filmmakers from across the globe.
Festival director Reta Guetg emphasized the collection’s international significance, noting that the selections represent diverse storytelling perspectives and feature prominent performers. The complete program for the 22nd Zurich Film Festival will be unveiled on September 9, with the gala premieres reflecting the festival’s commitment to presenting compelling narratives from varied cultural backgrounds.
