Filmmaker Zack Snyder’s upcoming drama-thriller “The Last Photograph” has been selected for its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival. The film is scheduled to screen on September 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the John Bassett Theatre, which operates as TIFF’s newest venue within the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The production centers on a former DEA agent seeking vengeance in the South American jungle. Snyder both directed the picture and collaborated on the screenplay with Kurt Johnstad. The cast includes Stuart Martin, Fra Fee, Jackie Kay, Costanza Andrade, Carolina Henao and Marlon Moreno in key roles.
Snyder has established himself as a major Hollywood director through his work on several acclaimed projects, including entries in the DC superhero franchise and independent films like “300” and “Watchmen.” He is also currently developing a remake of “Escape from New York.”
The Toronto International Film Festival runs September 10-20, 2026, featuring multiple high-profile premieres alongside “The Last Photograph.” The festival will conclude with “Villeneuve: The Rise of a Legend,” a sports drama chronicling the early career of racing legend Gilles Villeneuve.
