The Premios Juventud, TelevisaUnivision’s long-running celebration of Hispanic youth culture, is marking a significant expansion this year by transforming into a multi-city festival experience. What began over two decades ago as a single televised event has grown into an immersive week-long celebration featuring creator initiatives and live concerts across Houston, Miami, and Los Angeles before concluding with its 23rd edition at the Starlight Amphitheater in Marbella, Spain on September 3.
This international shift reflects the company’s broader strategic goals following its 2022 merger with Televisa. According to Univision Television Networks President Ignacio Meyer, the expanded reach aims to connect with Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide through multiple platforms, including the ViX streaming service. The decision to hold the event in Spain follows a similar move by the Latin Grammy Awards to Seville several years ago, demonstrating a commitment to reaching global audiences.
The ceremony will honor four distinguished “Agents of Change” recognized for leveraging their platforms for social good. Actor Antonio Banderas, singer Marc Anthony, reggaetón artist Yandel, and Spanish pop-rock band La Oreja de Van Gogh will receive recognition for their philanthropic efforts. Banderas has established foundations supporting his hometown of Málaga, while Anthony’s initiatives have supported over 35 community projects across Latin America and the United States. Yandel has championed mental health awareness and education, while La Oreja de Van Gogh will make their Premios Juventud debut after three decades together.
