Logansport’s girls golf team celebrated senior night with an impressive victory over Harrison at Dykeman Park Golf Course. The Berries secured a 171-182 win against a program that has lost only two dual matches over the past two seasons, both to Logansport. Coach Abby Lundy emphasized the significance of the achievement, expressing optimism about the team’s potential for claiming back-to-back sectional titles and capturing a Hoosier Conference championship.
Four seniors contributed to Wednesday’s success on what turned out to be an exceptionally hot and humid evening with temperatures reaching 92 degrees. Izzy Lundy shot a 42, Natalie Graham carded a 45, and Sam Baker added a 48 to their team’s score. Despite challenging weather conditions that warranted allowing golf carts, the seniors reflected positively on the experience and their journey together as teammates since their freshman year.
The Berries demonstrated continued improvement throughout the season despite weather-related setbacks that cost the program approximately 10 days of practice and competition. Kendal Kranz led the team with a career-best 40, while Chloe Wilburn contributed a 44. Looking forward, Logansport will compete in the Hoosier Conference Meet on September 12 and the sectional on September 21, both hosted at Tippecanoe Country Club in Monticello, with state finals competition also within reach.
