Apple TV has partnered with Yahoo Sports to stream alternate broadcasts of select live sporting events over the coming two months. The collaboration will feature four matchups total: two Major League Baseball games and two Major League Soccer contests, all available free through the Yahoo Sports website and mobile app.
The baseball broadcasts will cover the Detroit Tigers versus Cleveland Guardians on September 4 and the Philadelphia Phillies against New York Mets on September 18. However, Yahoo Sports will only stream the first two innings of each game, with commentary provided by hosts from the “Baseball Bar-B-Cast” podcast. For soccer, Yahoo Sports will showcase the 2026 Michelob Ultra Campeones Cup between Inter Miami CF and Cruz Azul on September 16, plus Inter Miami versus FC Cincinnati on October 28, featuring hosts from “The Cooligans” podcast.
Each alternate broadcast will include unique camera angles from Apple TV and feature direct links to the Apple TV app, allowing viewers to access the full games and Apple’s complete sports lineup. Yahoo Sports will supplement the broadcasts with pregame coverage, on-site advertising, social media promotion, and other marketing efforts to drive awareness of Apple TV’s exclusive sports programming.
According to Yahoo Sports’ general manager, the partnership aims to combine expert commentary with Apple TV’s live coverage, bringing together the personalities that have made the network’s podcasts popular to cover significant matchups throughout the seasons.
