The Television Critics Association announced its 42nd annual awards, celebrating outstanding programming from the 2025-2026 television season. Several other major awards were distributed across multiple networks and streaming platforms. HBO’s “The Pitt” received recognition for dramatic excellence, and Netflix’s “Death by Lightning” took home the movies, miniseries and specials category. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert secured the variety, talk and sketch honor, while reality television was represented by “The Traitors.” In addition to these wins, Stephen Colbert was honored with a Career Achievement Award from the organization.
Apple TV emerged as the night’s leading platform with five total wins, surpassing Netflix with three victories and HBO with two. TCA President Andy Dehnart praised the diverse range of award-winning content, noting that these selections reflect the organization’s continued commitment to recognizing exceptional creative talent across the entertainment industry.
