The Pokémon Company is making it easier for collectors to obtain a sought-after commemorative card without breaking the bank. Beginning October 2, customers can receive a limited-edition Mewtwo promo card as a gift when they purchase $15 or more in Pokémon trading card game products at participating retailers.
This exclusive card features special “Pokémon 30” foil stamping that distinguishes it from cards found in standard booster packs. Additionally, each promo comes with a QR code card providing access to the Pokémon Night Out event experience, available both online and in physical locations. Given the rapid sell-out of anniversary merchandise, collectors should act promptly to secure their cards.
Seven major retailers are participating in the promotion: Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, BoxLunch, Five Below, GameStop, Hot Topic, and Macy’s. To meet the $15 minimum spending requirement, customers can purchase items from the newly launched 30th Celebration expansion, which releases September 16. This set includes reimagined artwork, classic card reprints, and a notable feature: every booster pack guarantees a rare Pikachu card from a collection of 30 different designs.
Collectors can easily reach the spending threshold by buying individual booster packs or Booster Bundles, making this promotion an accessible way to obtain the commemorative Mewtwo card without purchasing expensive premium products.
