Lake Wales’ offense found its rhythm after a rocky start marred by poor snaps that derailed their opening drive. The team responded with methodical execution, including an 80-yard scoring drive featuring multiple intermediate passes from Loydd and a rushing touchdown by Kamari Smith. In the second half, the Highlanders struck quickly when senior receiver Kaneilius Purdy caught a pass and broke several tackles for an 84-yard touchdown. Loydd completed 8 of 12 passes for 167 yards, while Purdy finished with five receptions for 124 yards.
Auburndale’s Edwards completed his first seven passes for 104 yards with two touchdown throws in the opening half, demonstrating his ability to extend plays with scrambling mobility.
