British rock band Squeeze has canceled their performance at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia, following a fatal accident involving a tour bus. A worker died after being struck by the vehicle while working underneath it in the venue’s parking lot. Authorities determined that a support mechanism gave way, causing the bus to collapse on the individual. The worker’s identity has not been released.
In a statement released shortly after the incident, Squeeze expressed their condolences to those impacted by the tragedy. The band announced they made the difficult decision to call off the evening’s show in consultation with venue management and local authorities. They indicated plans to work with promoters and the venue to reschedule the performance and pledged to update ticket holders with further details when available.
Wolf Trap also acknowledged the incident on social media, noting that a community member lost their life at the national park venue and that the cancellation was made as a mark of respect. The incident occurred at a popular performance venue located near Washington, D.C., which regularly hosts musical and artistic events. Squeeze continues their U.S. tour with upcoming performances scheduled in Ohio and Illinois.
