Two major independent film companies have announced a significant collaboration to strengthen European cinema. Spain’s Impulse Cinema and Italy’s Fandango unveiled their strategic partnership at the Venice Production Bridge, the market segment of the prestigious Venice Film Festival. The alliance aims to expand opportunities for Spanish and Italian film and television projects through co-production, financing, distribution, and worldwide sales initiatives.
Impulse Cinema, led by Andrés Sánchez Pajares and Roberto Butragueño, operates as Spain’s first comprehensive indie studio with integrated services across development, production, and international distribution. The Madrid-based company has secured €8 million in funding through the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation under the NextGenerationEU program. The studio offers comprehensive services including production financing, co-production capabilities, distribution support, and access to advanced facilities such as post-production laboratories and soundstages.
Fandango, headed by Domenico Procacci, stands as a leading Italian independent production and distribution company with over a century of combined film credits since its 1989 establishment. The partnership enables both companies to leverage their respective expertise and resources while supporting independent filmmakers in achieving both artistic and commercial success. Industry leaders expressed confidence that increased European collaboration between producers, distributors, and investors will strengthen the competitive position of independent cinema on the global market.
