Mediacorp and Korean investment firm Blintn have announced a collaborative venture on “Collateral Romance,” a romantic comedy series spanning 12 episodes. The production will be filmed across Singapore and South Korea, representing Mediacorp’s second co-production with Korean partners. The initiative receives backing from Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority and features Bigwave Entertainment as the production company.
The creative team brings together established talent from both nations. Director Kang Min-goo, writer Lee Do-yeon, and producer Woo Saejin lead the Korean contingent, while Singapore’s Leong Lye Lin serves as executive producer. The cast includes Korean actors Kim Myung-soo and Pyo Ye-jin in leading roles, with Singapore-based performer Gladys Bay completing the ensemble. The narrative follows two individuals from different backgrounds whose chance encounter in an unfamiliar setting catalyzes unexpected personal transformations and romantic connection.
The partnership underscores Mediacorp’s strategic commitment to deepening entertainment ties with South Korea and developing premium regional content. According to Virginia Lim, the broadcaster’s chief content and talent officer, such collaborations enable the combination of audience insights and storytelling expertise across markets. Blintn’s leadership similarly emphasized the project’s potential to blend Korean creative talent with regional partnerships while maintaining local authenticity for international audiences.
“Collateral Romance” is scheduled to premiere during the first half of 2027.
