São Paulo Football Club has received recognition for its youth development program with three players earning selection to Brazil’s Under-15 women’s national team. The trio of Rafaela Hurtado, Julia Correia, and Nicoly de Almeida were announced on Monday to represent their country in an upcoming continental competition.
The three athletes will compete in the Conmebol U-15 Evolution League, a regional tournament scheduled to take place from September 8 through September 20. The event will be hosted at the Women’s Football High Performance Center in Ypané, Paraguay. Brazil’s squad will face multiple opponents throughout the tournament, including matches against Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela during the group stage.
The tournament features a modified format from its inaugural edition last year, when Brazil claimed the championship title. This year’s competition expands to include ten South American teams divided into two groups that compete in a round-robin format. Matches consist of two 40-minute halves with a 15-minute break, and all teams are guaranteed to play five matches total, with final round matchups determined by group standings.
