The studio confirmed through a statement on X that the leaked footage does indeed depict actual gameplay from the upcoming title.
In its message, Rockstar expressed regret over both the extended development timeline and the delayed official presentation of the game. The company acknowledged fan frustration regarding how long the project has taken to complete and how much time passed before showing the public any official footage. Despite these apologies, the leaker operating under the alias Cyberleek released a fifteenth video clip shortly after the studio’s Wednesday morning statement, appearing unmoved by Rockstar’s response.
The developer stressed the importance of impressing audiences with a substantial gameplay reveal scheduled for Netflix on Thursday, which will showcase significantly more content than the leaked videos, including plot details and character information. The official presentation aims to demonstrate elements beyond what Cyberleek’s clips have shown, which primarily featured the protagonist Jason engaging in combat and vehicle theft.
Rockstar’s official GTA VI launch remains set for November 19, with the studio hoping that the comprehensive Netflix premiere will overshadow the unauthorized footage by then.
