Jessica Bang, an 18-year-old Australian golfer, has died following a brain haemorrhage while competing in Thailand. The promising athlete collapsed on August 1 and was transported to a Bangkok hospital, where she underwent emergency surgical intervention. She passed away on Thursday without recovering from the condition.
Bang had recently achieved significant success in her professional career, securing her first tournament victory earlier this year during her fifth professional competition. The teenager had only turned professional at the conclusion of 2025, transitioning from an accomplished amateur career to the professional circuit.
At the time of her collapse, Bang was in Bangkok preparing to compete in the International Qualifying Tournament for the Korean women’s professional tour. The WPGA Tour of Australasia released a statement expressing deep sadness over her passing, describing her as an “outstanding young talent” and offering condolences to her family and the broader Australian golf community.
