Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced a November 6 global release date for the highly anticipated film adaptation of “Ramayana.” The epic production brings together an impressive cast including Ranbir Kapoor as the exiled prince Rama, Sai Pallavi as his consort Sita, and Yash as the antagonist Ravana. The narrative centers on Sita’s kidnapping by Ravana and the subsequent conflict between good and evil that unfolds across multiple realms.
Director Nitesh Tiwari, known for helming the record-breaking Indian film “Dangal,” brings this ancient saga to the screen as a two-part cinematic event designed for worldwide audiences. The production boasts an impressive creative team, with composer Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman collaborating on the score, while action specialists Terry Notary and Guy Norris choreograph the film’s combat sequences. The visual effects work will be handled by DNEG, the eight-time Academy Award-winning studio renowned for blockbusters including the “Dune” franchise and “Inception.”
The film will be released in multiple languages, including English, and shot for IMAX format across both installments.
