Apple’s latest product announcement drew unexpected attention from an unlikely source. Data from adult content platform Pornhub revealed significant traffic declines among iPhone users during yesterday’s Apple Event, marking the most substantial drop in five years for such an occasion.
The surge in viewer departures coincided specifically with the unveiling of Apple’s new foldable iPhone Duo. iPhone users showed a 22 percent decrease in Pornhub pageviews during the device’s reveal, the largest recorded dip during any September Apple presentation in recent memory. In contrast, Android device users maintained relatively consistent engagement, with traffic remaining near normal levels throughout the event. When other products like the iPhone 18 Pro, AirPods 5, and Apple Watch Series 12 were presented, traffic gradually returned closer to baseline, suggesting the foldable device held particular appeal.
The interest proved temporary, however. By the conclusion of the event, engagement levels on Apple devices had largely normalized, dropping only approximately seven percent below average. Industry observers noted that even groundbreaking technology announcements struggle to sustain viewer attention on such platforms for extended periods.
