Gregory had demonstrated his value during the preseason, appearing in all three exhibition games and recording a quarterback hit in the opener. Against Philadelphia in the second preseason matchup, he added three total tackles while seeing action in both run-stopping and pass-rushing situations, showcasing his versatility on the defensive line.
With his assignment to the practice squad, Gregory will have the opportunity to work toward earning a promotion to the regular season roster. He will compete alongside other defensive tackles on the depth chart as the Patriots prepare for the start of their season.
