The Paley Center for Media has unveiled a new prestigious award coinciding with the return of its annual PaleyFest NY celebration. The inaugural PaleyFest Award will recognize outstanding achievements in television and entertainment, with this year’s honorees including actor Billy Crystal and the television series “American Horror Story,” “Dexter,” “Tulsa King,” “Marshals,” “The Diplomat,” and “The Gilded Age.” The award was established to mark the organization’s 50th anniversary and will be presented annually during the festival.
According to Paley Center leadership, the new honor formalizes the significance of being selected for PaleyFest, acknowledging the excellence and cultural impact demonstrated by the chosen works and creators. Recipients will have their achievements permanently preserved in the Paley Archive. The award complements the Paley Center’s existing Paley Honors, which celebrate individuals whose groundbreaking media accomplishments have set industry standards.
This year’s PaleyFest NY will take place October 8-14 at the Paley Museum in New York. The event will feature preview screenings and panel discussions with cast members and creative teams from the honored productions. Presale tickets became available today for Paley Members and Citi cardmembers, with additional information available through the festival schedule.
