Orlando Pride announced Monday that it has terminated its working relationship with head coach Seb Hines, effective immediately. The decision marks a significant shift for the National Women’s Soccer League club as it reassesses its direction moving forward.
Yolanda Thomas, who has served as an assistant coach with the Pride since the 2023 season, has been promoted to the interim head coach position. Thomas brings experience from her previous roles coaching Tulsa Soccer Club and Fortuna Tulsa of the Women’s Premier Soccer League, as well as her work with the U.S. Women’s Youth National Team. Goalkeeper coach Paul Crichton is also departing the organization alongside Hines.
Orlando Pride General Manager Caitlin Carducci acknowledged Hines’ contributions during his tenure with the club, citing his dedication and professionalism. However, Carducci indicated that the organization felt a coaching change was necessary to better position itself for future success and align with the club’s long-term strategic objectives.
