OpenAI’s president Greg Brockman downplayed concerns about recent executive departures at the artificial intelligence company during a CNBC interview on Monday. Brockman stated that the personnel changes are not unusual for organizations of OpenAI’s size, but rather appear atypical due to the intense public scrutiny the company faces.
The remarks came following two significant departures within days of each other. Revenue chief Denise Dresser exited her position after eight months, just two days after Brad Lightcap announced his departure after eight years with the company. Dresser had been responsible for expanding OpenAI’s enterprise division, a high-margin business unit competing directly with rival Anthropic. The company subsequently appointed Dali Rajic, previously a COO at cybersecurity firm Wiz, to fill the chief revenue officer role.
Brockman emphasized that leadership continuity remains strong at OpenAI, noting that both he and CEO Sam Altman provide stability amid organizational changes. He praised Dresser’s contributions to building out the enterprise foundation and expressed confidence in her successor’s ability to lead the division forward.
