Netflix has expanded the cast roster for the upcoming third season of its live-action “One Piece” adaptation with four new additions. The streaming platform announced that Emilio Sakraya, known for his role in “Rheingold,” will portray Koza, while Omid Abtahi from “The Mandalorian” takes on the character of Toto. Jamie Ward, recognized from “The Gentlemen,” will play Pell, and Nabeel Khan, who appeared in “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” rounds out the new cast members as Chaka.
The third season, officially titled “One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta,” will see the return of the main cast including Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy and several other core characters. Additional newcomers joining the production include Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, and Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger, among others.
The upcoming season follows the pirate crew as they navigate a brewing civil war in Alabasta, the homeland of Princess Vivi. The plot centers on a rebellion orchestrated by Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, whose syndicate aims to seize control of the kingdom. Production for the season has already wrapped in Cape Town, South Africa, with Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes serving as co-showrunners.
