Napoli have officially completed the acquisition of centre-back Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea on a temporary basis with an option to purchase. The Italian club announced the move through an official statement on their website, marking another addition to their defensive roster ahead of the upcoming season.
According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the structure involves Napoli paying €3 million for the loan, with a further €20 million required should they decide to exercise the permanent purchase option, bringing the total potential expenditure to €23 million. However, some Italian media outlets have reported varying figures, with certain sources suggesting the buy option could reach as high as €27 million when including additional bonuses and add-ons.
The 25-year-old defender represents Napoli’s second significant first-team acquisition of the transfer window, following the earlier signing of Costantino Favasuli from Catanzaro. Badiashile originally joined Chelsea from Monaco in January 2023 for €37 million, subsequently making 42 Premier League appearances for the Blues across four seasons, while previously completing 135 competitive outings with the French club.
