Country-rap artist BigXthaPlug was arrested Friday in Texas on multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession, and illegal firearm possession. The Dallas-based rapper, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was taken into custody by the Allen Police Department and booked into Collin County Jail following a traffic stop.
The arrest forced BigXthaPlug to cancel a scheduled Friday night performance at Winnipeg’s Country Rising Festival in Manitoba. Festival organizers acknowledged the cancellation, telling fans they understood their disappointment regarding the rapper’s absence due to an undisclosed personal emergency.
This marks the second firearms and drug-related arrest for the rising artist in one year. Landum was arrested on identical charges exactly one year prior in August 2025 and was out on bail when this latest arrest occurred.
Despite the legal troubles, BigXthaPlug is expected to perform Saturday evening at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand. Fair organizers confirmed they remain in contact with the artist’s representatives and anticipate he will fulfill the scheduled appearance. The musician has gained recognition for blending country and rap genres, building on the success of his debut album.
